St. John is reached by ferry from St. Thomas, which is served by major US carriers with no passport required for US citizens. The ferry from Red Hook on St. Thomas takes approximately 20 minutes and runs regularly throughout the day. Taxis and vans from the airport to Red Hook are plentiful.
The USVI enjoys warm, sunny weather year-round. Peak season runs December through April with reliably dry, breezy conditions.
