The space:
DISTINCTIVE 18th CENTURY ARCHITECTURE- High ceilings, bright, 18th century house with large veranda, serene tropical courtyard and pool. Living room gets hilltop breezes.
THE COTTAGE HAS A MASTER WITH KING MAHOGANY FOUR POSTER BED. (THERE IS A SLEEPING ROOM WITH A TRUNDLE BED USEABLE AS TWO TWINS OR KING BED)
THERE IS ALSO A DETACHED QUEEN BEDROOM AND FULL BATH ON THE SAME COURTYARD STEPS AWAY FROM THE COTTAGE.
STRAND STREET GUEST HOUSE: Built in the mid 1700's on a hill overlooking the town of Christiansted, now the historic district. Within a few blocks is everything a European lifestyle offers with easy walking access to a wonderful bakery and the best courtyard cafe just a block away. You will be a few blocks from the boardwalk and all the shops, salons, tours and restaurants. Nothing in town, including Fort Christiansted on the east side of town, is more than a 10 to 15 minute walk. Return to your very comfortable guest house with large veranda, tropical courtyard and pool.
You may also rent a car or fly to St Thomas for a day from the Seaborne water air base about three blocks away.
Almost every tour leaves from the boardwalk four blocks away. There is also a 5 minute ferry that runs continuously all day to the Protestant Cay beach and restaurant. it leaves every 15 minutes from the boardwalk.
The guest house also has a fully equipped kitchen, a 60" TV with HD cable and Firestick and air conditioning. There is a clothes washer available off the courtyard. Water is filtered rainwater with an ultra violet purification system.
Parking is on Strand St. just outside courtyard door.
Travelers will have access to the entire guest house, queen room and bath, veranda, courtyard and pool.
St Croix information will be found in the guest house. Everything is nearby and easy to find, but the owners will be available to provide any suggestions or help we can.
The guest house is situated on a hill that is less than one block long so that part of the walk, though not too bad, may be slightly strenuous for some.
SPECIAL NOTE!!! THE GUEST HOUSE IS WITHIN A WALLED OFF COMPOUND AND SHARES THE COURTYARD AND POOL WITH THE MAIN HOUSE WHERE THE OWNERS LIVE WITH THEIR TWO DOGS. IE, IT IS MOSTLY PRIVATE (WE VERY RARELY SEE GUESTS), WE CAN KEEP THE DOGS AT THE MAIN HOUSE AND MIGHT WALK THEM IN IN THE COURTYARD FOR A MINUTE OR TWO AT NIGHT. ALSO, THERE IS POOL CLEANING AND YARD WORK SOMETIMES. PLEASE DO NOT RESERVE IF YOU WANT AND EXPECT COMPLETE AND TOTAL PRIVACY.
