Sip mimosas on the balcony overlooking your stunning 180° ocean views, including a palm tree just off your balcony, or enjoy the view through the floor-to ceiling windows across the entire front of the apartment. Designed to be left open throughout the day, the (fully screened) glass front to Clifftop Apartment brings in the balmy island breezes the island gets at this height. There is no AC, but for 10 months of the year we have cooling breezes almost all the time! (Aug/Sept are our warmest months.)
Cool-to-the feet Mexican tile leads you to a state-of-the art kitchen -- a fully stocked kitchen with honey wood cabinets, granite counters, stainless appliances, and a breakfast bar with rustic bar seats. Your dining table seats 4, overlooking the ocean below.
This is an opportunity to enjoy island flavor in a gracious setting. It is perfect for two but comfortable for up to 4 if you don't mind sharing a "Jack & Jill" bathroom (ie, doors open from each bedroom, like the Brady Bunch but smaller ;-). It is also pet-friendly for a nice, very quiet pet (with previous approval and pet deposit).
Both bedrooms have queen beds. Bedroom 1 has a partial ocean view and lovely breezes through a front window. Bedroom 2 is cozy and secure and allows near total-darkness sleeping if desired.
The shared bathroom is small but charming, with Mexican tile and a candlelit travertine marble shower.
Clifftop is located on a private drive, in a secluded area with driveway parking. It is a 5-minute drive to 3 beaches (a rental car is required, or a car/driver arrangement, as island taxis do not like to go off the main roads, and this is an understatement ;-). There are sometimes renters in the main house — separate driveway, separate entrance — and the neighbors as well as other guests truly value their peace and quiet, so there is no noise after 9PM (or fun balcony gatherings or enthusiastic late-night returns from clubs ;-) please! There is a shared outdoor laundry alcove (washer, dryer, industrial sink, & usually detergent for your use!), which is outside the main house but available to both units. Again, we do ask that everyone be thoughtful and use only during the day, not before 10AM or after dark!
While it’s just .75 miles above the main road, Clifftop is in a quiet, remote-feeling area; our neighbors enjoy their peace and quiet, so is not suited for parties, loud music, or late-night gatherings on the balcony…(no noise after 9 :-)
There is free Wi-Fi, a SmartTV, 24hr check-in, and parking. Getting Around: A car is required, as the house is high above the bustle of the main road and St Thomas's "safari bus route" (there is driveway parking). There are many rentals on island, but do confirm in advance, as car rentals sometimes suffer from our Caribbean island tempo! If you don’t want to drive, I can help you arrange a car and driver, but it must also be arranged in advance!
